2019 Ka Leo O Hawaiʻi High School Summer Internship Program

The Ka Leo O Hawaiʻi High School Summer Internship Program is designed to give students a hands-on experience in the journalism industry. The program will cover a variety of concepts including ethics, reporting, print and web content, and video production. Students will engage in various workshops and activities, led by Ka Leo advisors and editors, with the goal of publishing their work as contributing writers in the Ka Leo summer issues or on the Ka Leo website.

When: June 10 – July 10, 2019 (Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. – noon)

Where: University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, Hemenway Hall 107 (Ka Leo Office, Ewa side of Campus Center)

Note: The program will be limited to 15 students. Priority will be given to graduating high school seniors and incoming high school juniors and seniors, with a high quality of clips and experience.
