President Donald Trump announced on Twitter Thursday night that he and his wife, Melania, tested positive for COVID-19.

“We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately,” Trump said in a tweet. “We will get through this TOGETHER!”

Trump was exposed to the virus from his senior aide, Hope Hicks, who had traveled with him this week aboard Air Force One, The New York Times reported.

About two hours before the announcement, Trump also tweeted, “Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!”

It’s unclear what will happen for future debates.
