Water service has been restored for parts of the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa after a water main break near Dean Hall shut down service to Campus Center and the Warrior Recreation Center.
The water main break happened at around 9 a.m., and caused a loss of water pressure in several buildings. Food establishments within Campus Center such as Starbucks were closed for the day. Campus Center Food Court was closed at 1 p.m.
Board of Water Supply workers managed to stop the water at the break and have excavated down to the pipe. As of May 18, water has been restored.
"It was inconvenient for me, but I can always go somewhere else," UH junior Rob Locqiao said.
