Rainbow Warrior senior outside hitter Stijn van Tilburg put down 12 kills as No. 2 Hawaiʻi defeated No. 8 Stanford in a 25-15, 25-18 and 25-16 sweep on Sunday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Junior opposite Rado Parapunov contributed 10 kills with no errors and made four of the 'Bows' nine aces. Hawaiʻi (5-0) has not dropped a single set this season.

Senior middle blocker Dalton Solbrig made two aces during a 5-0 run to put UH at a 13-7 lead in set one. Parapunov added an ace, followed by back-to-back kills by junior outside hitter Colton Cowell and senior setter Joe Worsley. UH hit .619 in the set, as four players made at least three kills.

In set two, the score was tied nine times until the 'Bows scored three straight points to take a 20-17 lead. Parapunov made consecutive aces to give UH a 23-18 lead as the 'Bows scored eight of the final nine points in the set.

UH jumped out to an 8-4 lead in set three. Cowell made a pair of aces during a 5-0 run to take a commanding 21-14 lead. The 'Bows ultimately won the set and match after van Tilburg put down the final kill to make it 25-16.

Stanford (7-3) sophomore opposite Jaylen Jasper made a season-high 13 kills and senior outside hitter Jordan Ewert added 11 in the Cardinals' loss.

The 'Bows out-dug the Cardinals 29-15, and hit .55 on the night.

Hawaiʻi travels to the East coast for a two-match series against Queens and a single match against Saint Francis on Feb. 8 and 9, respectively.
