Three University of Hawai‘i Warrior volleyball players received Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic Scholar Athlete Honors for 2017.
In order to receive this honor, the players need to have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better, have competed in 50% or more of the competitions and have at least sophomore standing.
Patrick Gasman, Dalton Solbrig and Stijn van Tilburg earned this honor, Gasman and Solbrig for the first time.
Gasman, a mechanical engineering major, also received MPSF all-freshman team honors.
Solbrig, a marine biology major and middle blocker, averaged .94 blocks per set and 34 total blocks.
Economics major van Tilburg earned AVCA All-American first team and MPSF first team honors. He also received the Off the Block’s Bryan Ivie Award, which is given to the nation's best opposite. He is ranked third in the nation, with 4.25 kills per set average, and fifth nationally in points per set with 4.78.
