Wahine basketball

The Rainbow Wahine basketball team (10-17, 5-9 BWC) defeated the Cal State Fullerton Titans (4-23, 1-12 BWC) in their last road game of the season.

Hawai‘i lead a low scoring first quarter 16-12. The Wahine would end up leading by only one point to end the first half 22-21.

The Wahine came back to a strong third quarter, adding 17 points in comparison to CSF’s six for a score of 39-27. Hawai‘i would be able to close out the game with a score of 55-45.

Hawai‘i was shot 32% from the field, 36% for three point shots, and 67% from the field. The Wahine also got 14 turnovers with 12 points off of those turnovers and 49 rebounds. 

Senior point guard Briana Harris lead the Wahine with 20 points, seven rebounds, and going 2-2 for free throws.

Junior guard Sarah Toeaina contributed 11 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore guard Olivia Crawford added 11 points.

The Wahine come home for senior night against Long Beach State (19-9, 10-3 BWC) on March 4 at 7 p.m. HST in the Stan Sheriff Center.
