University of Hawaii quarterback Chevan Cordeiro heads onto the field before the Rainbow Warriors' game against Colorado State for the opening coin toss on Nov. 20.

Chevan Cordeiro, the former Saint Louis quarterback and two-star recruit has entered the NCAA transfer portal after four years with the University of Hawaiʻi.

The transfer comes after a down year for Cordeiro, who ranked outside the top 25 in every major passing statistic category. The lowest point he reached was 102 of 112 passers in terms of completion percentage with 55.2%.

The star quarterback confirmed the news on Twitter with a note thanking those surrounding the Hawaiʻi football program.

Hawaiʻi loses yet another big time player as he was the only player in UH history to surpass 6,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards. Since the Wyoming game, Hawaiʻi has lost running back Dae Dae Hunter, wide receiver Kilohana Haasenritter and defensive back Donovan Dalton to the transfer portal, safety Kai Kaneshiro to medical retirement, and offensive weapon Calvin Turner Jr. to graduation.

The mass exodus of Hawaiʻi stars comes after a season of disappointment in which the ‘Bows fell below .500 and will most likely miss a bowl game.
